Aaqil Ahmed

Commissioning Editor, Religion and Multicultural

Channel 4

Aaqil joined Channel 4 in April 2003. Recent commissions include the Emmy short-listed two part series ‘The Cult of the Suicide Bomber’, the acclaimed two hour documentary ‘The Qur’an’ and the genre breaking series ‘Priest Idol’. Aaqil recently became commissioning editor for Channel 4’s multicultural programming, which includes commissioning nine and ten PM programmes and championing multicultural talent and ideas. Before joining Channel 4, Aaqil worked at the BBC in the Current affairs and the Religion and Ethics departments.
