10 x 10 is the popular free workshop run in partnership by the Documentary Filmmakers Group (DFG) and the North American organisation Doculink. Filmmakers screen up to ten minutes of their work-in-progress and receive ten minutes of directed feedback from the audience. Work screened has included trailers, excerpts from a rough cut, key scenes and even rushes, and it’s a great opportunity for filmmakers to gain support, get crucial feedback, and feel part of the independent doc community. It’s also a rare chance to see what others are working on and find out what works, what doesn’t and why.
