Stage Managers


Doc/Fest is looking for Stage Managers to work on the film screening programme, conference programme and special events.Events include the Opening Night Gala, Closing Night Party, award ceremony, film screenings with Q&A's, keynote addresses, panels, and masterclasses with some of the world's leading documentary filmmakers and broadcasters.

This is a great opportunity to work on a world-class, international event with a professional and fun team. Successful applicants will work closely with the Production Manager, being responsible for the smooth running of a tight program.

Duties include:

- Ensure all sessions, screenings and events start and end on time
- Control and manage tight changeovers
- Liaise with filmmakers, session producers, speakers, venue technicians and other venue staff, Doc/Fest staff, Front of House, archival film crew and photographer
- Manage volunteers

Requirements:

- Ability to work independently, calmly, and react quickly under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised and efficient
- Confident and assertive
- Technical experience not necessary but useful

Guest Services Assistant

Doc/Fest is looking for a Guest Services Assistant to liaise with our VIP filmmaker, buyer and speaker guests in the lead up to the festival.

This is a voluntary unpaid position but is a great opportunity to gain experience at a higher level as part of the staff team of a world class, international film festival.

We are looking for a calm-headed, hard working individual who is very organised and wants to work in a fun, fast-paced, busy environment. Desirable skills include: familiar with Outlook including excel, aptitude for working with online systems and databases, professional manner and confidence communicating with VIP guests, independent worker with initiative.

This role reports to the Guest Services Coordinator.

Duties include helping to organise and run a ground transport schedule; liaising with our VIP guests to help arrange their travel, accommodation and registration to the festival; supervising volunteers to greet guests.

The position is full time from 22nd October – 9th November.
