Videotheque
The Videotheque is a fully digitised library of films including all films in Doc/Fest’s official programme as well as a specially curated selection of the year’s best documentaries and submissions. Individual booths with monitors enable registered delegates to watch films privately. It is open for the duration of Doc/Fest (Wed November 5 to Sunday November 9) at the Delegate Centre in the Workstation, from 9am to 7pm. Registered delegates must book time to view a film during these hours. You will be asked to hand in your delegate badge before you view, in exchange for a headset. The badge will be returned when headset is handed back at the desk.
Films can be booked on a daily basis and screening time can be booked in advance for that day. Owing to limited space, delegates may not book for more than two hours per day. Please note that if you are late your slot may be reallocated. Multiple headsets are available for some monitors, allowing two or more people to view the same film together. Please specify the number of headsets required when you book.
A full catalogue of docs available to view can be found at the Videotheque desk. Also a PDF of the Videotheque catalogue will be available for download from the website.
As like last year, Sheffield Doc/Fest will present the East Silver Caravan. A special selection of documentaries from the East Silver’s 2007 video library has been presented at various international film festivals and markets. Thirty-four titles were included in the 2007 Videotheque. A PDF version of the 2008 selection will available for download.
If your film is selected for the official festival programme, it will automatically be included in the Videotheque.
If your submitted film is not in the official programme, you may be considered for Videotheque if you indicated your interest on your submission form. If your film is selected for Videotheque, a £50 administration fee is payable.
Full information on Videotheuqe will be provided by our programming team soon. In the meantime, for more information on getting your submitted film into the Videotheque please contact the Doc/Fest office.
