From one-to-one meetings to group discussions, this year’s Marketplace sessions provided a wide range of opportunities to meet with Decision Makers. 

All sessions took place at Cutlers' Hall – the hub for all Marketplace activities during the Festival.

Round Tables

This session format invites delegates to meet with Decision Makers through informal group discussions. Running for 90 minutes, the session features five tables with one or two Decision Makers at each table. During the course of the event, you will meet with all attending Decision Makers for 15-minute group meetings.

 

All Ears: Making Audio Docs and Podcasts 

Audio documentaries and podcasts are more popular than ever, but what are the current needs and interests in terms of new content? This session takes the pulse of the audio industry by inviting key commissioners and production companies to outline their editorial profiles and commissioning processes.

Every year, a number of documentary funds and foundations attend Doc/Fest – we’ve invited five of them to attend this session and explain just how they can support your project. From development to completion funds, and the general to the niche, this informal event is a perfect introduction to different approaches to documentary funding.

Budgeting for VR 10-Minute Meets

Get practical advice on how to budget for your VR project in this session featuring a range of professionals with extensive experience in producing successful virtual reality projects, some of which are featured in this year's Alternate Realities programme.

Doc/Dispatch 10-Minute Meets

Some stories need to reach audiences fast, and this new Doc/Fest initiative caters for producers with urgent and topical stories from around the world, wanting to connect with key platforms and commissioners. Doc/Dispatch in Marketplace will facilitate one-to-one meetings for selected filmmakers to connect with commissioners, including representatives from media organisations who showcase responsive, fast-turnaround content. Doc/Dispatch 10-Minute Meets is part of a larger programme, which also comprises the Doc/Dispatch Film Programme, and is supported by Deutsche Welle.
