The Doc/Fest team are heading to the European Film Market and Berlinale this year and would be delighted to meet you in Berlin.

Festival Director & CEO Elizabeth McIntyre, Deputy Director Melanie Iredale, Director of Partnerships & Development Sylvia Bednarz, Director of Film Programming Luke W Moody and Alternate Realities Curator & Executive Producer Dan Tucker will all be flying the flag for Sheffield Doc/Fest at the EFM and Berlinale this year.

Pop by to see them at the Doc/Fest Stand (#39), which can be found at the UK Film Stand, Martin-Gropius-Bau - open daily from 9am - 6.30pm from Thursday 15 - Wednesday 21 Feb.

Meet the Festivals

Meet the Festivals gives visitors direct access to top doc festival programmers and market representatives with the opportunity to book short one-on-one meetings and discuss your projects.

Sylvia Berdarnz (Director of Partnerships & Development) will be representing Sheffield Doc/Fest at Meet the Festivals on 16 - 17 Feb and Melanie Iredale (Deputy Director) will be present 18 - 20 Feb.

Doc/Fest Talk & Reception

The DocSalon will focus on current developments and future challenges of the documentary industry in 5 different talks. Sheffield Doc/Fest & EDN present a DocSalon session with three leading VR professionals on Friday 16 Feb, 5 - 6pm with Docs and VR - An Interactive Case Study. Join Dan Tucker, the Curator of Sheffield Doc Fest’s Alternate Realities programme, for a series of lightning talks about different areas of VR development, funding, production and distribution. Following the talks there will be a Q&A with the participants; Liz Rosenthal (Curator of Venice Film Festival's VR programme), Charlotte Mikkelborg (independent VR Director) and Frederic Dubois (cross-media specialist).

Following the Talk will be a Doc/Fest hosted reception 6 - 7pm where you can join the Doc/Fest team for Happy Hour networking drinks as part of the DocSalon at EFM.


MeetMarket Projects at Berlinale

We are also happy to announce that three projects pitched at MeetMarket in 2015 and 2016 are premiering this year at Berlinale/EFM!

What Walaa Wants by Christy Garland (MeetMarket 2015) will have its world premiere as part of the Generation programme.

Amal by Mohamed Siam, pitched at MeetMarket 2016, and Over the Limit by Marta Pruus, pitched at MeetMarket 2015 will both be screened at the European Film Market.
