As part of the DDD60 project – a pan-European research project which seeks to introduce cutting edge video compression and delivery technology to deliver high-quality VR content to Film and TV professionals – Doc/Fest has participated in creating a set of Guidelines for master file creation 360° films.
The purpose of the guidelines is to help virtual reality and 360 content producers to prepare master files with the highest possible quality for submission to film festivals, markets, and VOD platforms. Master files produced according to these guidelines will enable service providers to generate compressed versions for high quality screenings to target viewers.
DDD60 will show immersive content in some of the leading Film & TV markets worldwide, with project partners including Marche du Film, Sunnyside of the Doc and Tampere Short Film Festival, as well as Sheffield Doc/Fest.
