Filmmakers, producers, creatives and industry representatives from around the world come to Sheffield to network and meet with buyers and spark possible collaborations in documentary film, TV and immersive works.


Alternate Realities Alternate Territories Delegation

Coordinated by British Council

With support from British Council, Doc/Fest welcomes fifteen makers, thinkers and enablers working in digital art, immersive and interactive storytelling fields from five different territories to the festival. Chilean Delegation

Coordinated by Chiledoc

Chiledoc is proud to bring Chilean filmmakers and industry players to Doc/Fest to establish new connections in the British and European film industry. Chiledoc’s mission is to promote Chilean documentary productions in the world and encourage internationalisation. Chiledoc is supported by ProChile and the Chilean Documentary Corporation CCDoc.


Irish Delegation

Coordinated by Screen Ireland

With support from Screen Ireland, the Irish delegation of producers and directors return to Sheffield to connect with international audiences, co-producers and financiers. Recent Irish documentary successes include festival favourites Shooting the Mafia, A Dog Called Money, Gaza, and Caught in the Crossfire. Korean Delegation

Coordinated by Korea Communications Agency

South Korean filmmakers gather in Sheffield, supported by Korea Communications Agency (KCA), celebrating powerful Korean documentaries that have entered the international market, with strong results. KCA will host the Korean Pitching Day event at Doc/Fest 2019, inviting you to meet with promising Korean filmmakers.


Nordic Delegation

Coordinated by Nordisk Panorama Film Festival

A group of documentary makers and producers from across the Nordic countries come to Sheffield Doc/Fest in conjunction with Nordisk Panorama, a film festival, market and forum that proudly showcases and encourages the production of quality Nordic films by Nordic filmmakers. Palestinian Delegation

Coordinated by Film Lab Palestine

Film lab: Palestine in partnership with the British Council is honoured to present the Palestinian Delegation at Sheffield Doc/Fest. The delegation at this year’s Festival includes four Palestinian filmmakers. Filmlab: Palestine aims to establish international links, introduce emerging Palestinian talents and to strengthen their filmmaking capacities.



Russian Delegation

Coordinated by British Council

British Council are excited to bring five eminent festival directors, curators and filmmakers from Russia to Sheffield Doc/Fest under the British Council’s Future Culture programme, which aims to connect cultural professionals in Russia and the UK to develop new ideas, skills and collaborations.


Saudi Arabian Delegation

Coordinated by British Council

Eight filmmakers from Saudi Arabia have been supported by the British Council to visit Sheffield Doc/Fest for the first time. The group hopes to develop new collaborations with filmmakers and sector partners in the UK. The delegation is keen to increase international networks, view films and to develop their skills.


Scottish Delegation

Coordinated by Scottish Documentary Institute & Screen Scotland

Scottish talent come to Doc/Fest supported by Screen Scotland, the dedicated partnership for screen in Scotland, delivering enhanced support for all aspects of Scotland’s screen sector. Their funding supports emerging and established film and television talent producing distinctive and engaging work. Thai Delegation

Coordinated by Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP)

Supported by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), five renowned Thai filmmakers are joining Sheffield Doc/Fest for the very first time. Come and spot fresh and innovative ideas from talented Thai documentary filmmakers at the Thai Delegation Pitch and join us for a celebratory drink at the Thai Delegation Drinks Reception, all happening at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2019.

USA Delegation

Coordinated by Chicken & Egg Pictures

Chicken & Egg Pictures’ (Egg)celerator Lab brings together ten nonfiction projects helmed by directors making their first or second feature-length documentary. During the course of the year, program participants receive a $35,000 grant and tailored mentorship; attend retreats with master classes and creative and professional workshops; and make industry connections. With a focus on supporting women and gender non-conforming filmmakers from around the world, the (Egg)celerator Lab guides early career directors in laying the groundwork for sustainable creative careers while diversifying the industry pipeline. Chicken & Egg Pictures is currently accepting applications for the 2020 (Egg)celerator Lab.
