Virtual Round-Tables for UK Producers with International Industry Representatives

Virtual Session Series
We kick off our virtual session series on Thursday 11 June at 11:00 (BST) with What Can a Film Festival Be? Chaired by Doc/Fest Director Cíntia Gil and film journalist Carmen Grey, a group of film programmers from around the world discuss the vital need to continue promoting and defending filmmaking as a fundamental practice for our societies in extreme circumstances. The Whickers Pitch
The Whickers Pitch brings together five emerging directors to pitch their non-fiction projects to a panel of industry judges. Digital Industry passholders can watch the pitch and awards online and bear witness as the legacy of pioneering broadcaster Alan Whicker brings another exceptional documentary idea to life. The (Egg)celerator Lab
The (Egg)celerator Lab is a Chicken & Egg Pictures program focused on identifying and supporting nonfiction directors working on their first or second feature-length documentary. This program brings together ten projects, with a special focus on self-identifying women and gender nonconforming directors. The 2020 (Egg)celerator Lab participants will pitch their new projects to a panel of international decision makers, followed by meetings with the industry representatives taking part in Doc/Fest’s online marketplace.
