Today we launch the second of our series of Autumn weekenders: Rebellions, supported by Bertha Foundation.
Screenings will take place Friday 16 - Sunday 18 October at Showroom Cinema, Sheffield, while most titles can also be seen in parallel on Doc/Player, for Digital Industry Passholders, and on Sheffield Doc/Fest Selects, for UK public, until Thursday 29 October.
The Rebellions programme for October is a journey through ways of living together. How can we coexist, share, and build our common spaces? What fails and has failed historically in our societies, that makes it so difficult? We present films that try to decipher the world while being an agent of change. From Brazil, Iran, Latvia, Spain, Portugal, and the heart of London, these films all speak of our fears about one another and our collective capacity to confront that.
