A year ago, the British Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox was murdered just days before the EU referendum. Through the testimony of those closest to Jo and the crime - including Jo's family, detectives who investigated the murder, and those who knew her attacker – this film reveals the complex set of circumstances that caused one man with extreme political views to commit an act of terrible violence.
We invite you to gather ahead of the 7pm documentary screening: from 5pm on Tudor Square, ticketholders for ‘Jo Cox: Death of an MP’ can come together for complimentary cake, along with a performance by the Sheffield Socialist Choir. There will be a range of refreshments on offer, and festival goers are encouraged unite and remember Jo Cox.
At 6:30pm we invite ticket holders to walk to the Showroom Cinema for the 7pm screening of Jo Cox: Death of an MP, followed by a discussion about Jo’s legacy.
