Join Sheffield DocFest to celebrate the opening of the Alternate Realities Exhibition. The Exhibition explores the documentary and storytelling possibilities of gaming worlds and features a range of innovative works captured in games.
The exhibition centerpiece is Sheffield of Stories by Adam Clarke, created in partnership with The National Videogame Museum; transforming Sheffield into a shared fictional-real Minecraft world, co-created with children and families during workshops at The Museum. During the festival, exhibition visitors can explore the world and hear Sheffield stories through projections and interactive stations.
The exhibition will also showcase cutting edge international works created in games including Coded Black by Sheffield based team Human Studio & Dr Maisha Wester (suitable for age 16+), Elsewhere in India by Murthovic and Thiruda and The Siren by Mélanie Courtinat, as exemplars within the storytelling in gaming space.
