Oscar-winning director Andrea Arnold, whose remarkable career has shaped contemporary cinema, joins producer Kat Mansoor for an intimate conversation exploring the porous boundaries between fiction and documentary.
Known for her visceral, character-driven films and signature handheld style (American Honey, Fish Tank, Wasp), Arnold brought her raw, observational sensibility to documentary with Cow in 2021. Alongside her close collaborator, Kat Mansoor, she will reflect on the interplay between her fiction and documentary work, and how intuition, improvisation and attention to sensory experience shape her filmmaking. From casting non-actors to embedding closely with her subjects, Arnold’s approach resists neat categories, raising questions about what authenticity really looks like on screen. Blending personal insight with creative reflection, this conversation offers a rare look inside her process, and what it means to see, follow and feel one’s way into a story.
