Returning for its fifth edition, we are delighted to present Filmmaker Challenge 2026. Twelve early-career UK filmmakers have been selected to undertake the challenge of making a film on the fly, with a micro budget, equipment support and mentor guidance.
Working to a tight deadline, filmmakers will respond to this year's theme Realities in Motion, with all filming completed in a single day in and around their local region of South Yorkshire, Cornwall and Wales.
A new three-day residential workshop will support each filmmaker across storytelling, production and distribution before filming begins.
Join us for a screening of the finished films + Q&A with the filmmakers and mentor, and see contemporary Britain through twelve regional voices.
