A behind the scenes look at Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards, and the ethical, creative and legal tightrope shaping sensitive, high-stakes storytelling.

This session explores a critical question: how do you a tell a nuanced story when you can’t film all the subjects at the heart of a high-profile scandal? Commissioned in collaboration between 5’s Drama and Factual teams, and produced by Wonderhood Studios, Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards blends rigorous journalism with compelling storytelling to navigate this tension. From securing trust and consent to balancing legal risk with editorial urgency, this panel brings together the programme’s commissioning editors, writer and factual producer to unpack the ethical, creative and practical realities of dramatising sensitive, recent events while remaining truthful, responsible and impactful.
