Through filmmaking, students critically explore culture, authorship, and knowledge-making across three interconnected cinema worlds spanning the UK, Nigeria, and Germany.

This panel reflects on five years of Transnational Cinema Week. Through practice-based learning, the project intersects with Transnational Education (TNE). The initiative builds on a sustained collaboration between students and staff from Bournemouth University, LP House of Creatives, Nigeria, and Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, Germany. Within this transnational education frame, we show how learning is shaped by collaboration across multiple national, cultural, and cinematic contexts, alongside democratised forms of learning. It also shows how this results in co-creation, shared ownership, and intercultural respect.
