A facilitated working session bringing producers and industry leaders together to confront fee deferral and financial precarity, working towards a shared framework for fairer practice.

This facilitated working session brings producers and industry leaders into direct conversation about the financial realities shaping documentary today, with a focus on fee deferral, income insecurity and long-term sustainability. With key stakeholders in the room, the session creates space for open discussion, shared accountability and practical problem-solving.Through structured breakout groups, participants will exchange experiences, compare approaches and identify where current systems are falling short. The session then moves towards collective action, inviting the room to define what fair and sustainable working practices could look like in practice. Outcomes may include negotiation and contractual principles or a shared set of commitments for fairer working conditions. These will be documented and shared beyond the festival to support wider advocacy and sector change.
