
Our Rough Cut Screenings are an opportunity for five selected MeetMarket teams to show part of their documentaries to a room of industry representatives and delegates, to discuss, receive feedback and find partners to move their projects forward.

80 Angry Journalists

War correspondent András Földes documents the takeover of Index.hu, Hungary’s largest independent news site. He captures the journalists’ collective resignation, the creation of Telex.hu, and their struggle to maintain press freedom under an autocratic system.
Dungeon Masterhood
Director: Carina NicHaouchine (United Kingdom)
Brothers Thomas and Sam have found common ground in their weekly Dungeons and Dragons sessions with their friends. Over five years, Carina, their older sister, documents the brothers' coming of age. However, as the group grows up and moves on, Thomas, the Dungeon Master, refuses to let go.
Humboldt USA

19th century queer naturalist Alexander von Humboldt, the world’s most used namesake, serves as an instrument to explore the pursuits of everyday Americans reckoning with their disappearing environments: from helicoptering bighorn sheep across the Nevadan desert, to fighting urban highways in Buffalo, NY, to hacking redwood forest ecology in northern California.
The Surgeon
Director: Dylan Williams (Sweden, Rwanda)
This intimate film follows a team of surgeons led by Dr. Faustin Ntirenganya as they strive to meet the medical needs of a country where there is less than 1 surgeon per 100.000 people. Faustin’s ambitious plan to train a new generation of surgeons to confront Africa’s greatest health crisis is put to the test by the harsh realities of working against the odds—and the lure of lucrative opportunities in the West.
