Food has the power to bring people to their knees, or to lift people so high they find their freedom. Preparing or receiving a meal influences the human psyche and shapes relationships in a way that words often fail to do.
Following on from ‘How to Feed a Dictator’, we invite you to join us and FoodSquad for an evening of eating and discussion. We will demonstrate how communities can choose to harness the strength found in this intimate act and find hope in the collective fight against inequality and political failures.
Dinner to be hosted on the pavement of Paternoster Row (weather dependent). Don't worry, we have an equally lovely plan B if it rains. Please find us to the right of Showroom cinema.
The menu will be vegan, and designed by FoodSquad, who source their ingredients through donations from local independent businesses. Expect a homely three course meal and a welcoming, casual atmosphere. Allergy information below.
Luke Carver Goss will join us to accompany the dinner with live accordion.
Please find further information on the film here https://tickets.sheffdocfest.com/films/69de5a39eed9337ebe767339
Tickets: £5. All funds received will go directly to FoodSquad, a community kitchen.
