When thousands of dead crabs wash ashore along England's North East coast, fisherman Stan Rennie finds himself leading a grassroots fight for answers and a future.

Stan and his family have worked this same stretch of coastline, where the river meets the sea, for centuries. He knows the tides, the weather, the jokes. But when a vast tide of poisoned crabs, lobsters and shellfish carpets miles of beach, his world is turned upside down overnight. As officials dodge responsibility and his own health declines, Stan becomes the unlikely figurehead of a campaign to uncover what really happened, uniting fellow fishermen in a David and Goliath battle that reaches all the way to the courts. Directed by Teessider Jeanie Finlay (Your Fat Friend) this is a story about community, grief and gallows humour in a world that has suddenly, inexplicably changed.
