According to Welsh folklore, if a house could be built overnight on common land with smoke rising from the chimney by dawn, the place was yours to keep. 200 years later, Penrhos cottage stands still in time. Beneath its thatched roof lived Rachel and Maria, two sisters who spent their days crafting a life that quietly defied the rules society had written for women, celebrated rather than shunned by the community around them. A House in One Night is a fairytale documentary told through the eyes of the children who once visited, their memories of Penrhos and its last owners flickering back to life.
