La Jetée

Chris Marker’s legendary sci-fi short presents a past world and dystopian future through a series of still images, told from the perspective of a narrator.

Save for one brief moment, Marker’s photo roman solely comprises beautifully composed photographs. It tells the story of a prisoner in a post-apocalyptic world who is sent through time, where he falls in love. But little does he realise that his destiny is inextricably linked to his own past.
