Having worked in the autopsy training department for 14 years and now nearing retirement, Hama reflects on his own mortality.
For the last 14 years of his life Hama has spent each day working with the same corpse in the Anatomy Department of Sulaymaniyah University, Kurdistan. Despite one being dead and one still living, Hama feels they are close friends. With precision and sensitivity, the film’s observations of Hama’s daily work unfurls into a poetic meditation on life, death, and what comes after.

This film will screen as part of the short film compilation Learning from the Living, Learning from the Dead.
