Three women in China turn to AI lovers to fill the emotional gaps left by loneliness, unfulfilling marriages and the pursuit of independence.
Qin is a factory worker in her twenties, looking for devotion she can't find offline. Muna is a married housewife searching for desire and autonomy beyond her marriage. Sonya, confident and self-assured, approaches AI as a curiosity worth testing. Each builds an intimate bond with her virtual companion, finding comfort, affection and a space free from the expectations placed on them. The deeper these relationships grow, the harder it becomes to tell where genuine feeling ends and programming begins. Replica follows three women whose lives have been shaped by what real relationships couldn't give them, now facing what artificial ones can and can't provide.
