Driven by SEE NL, Flanders Image, Wallonie Bruxelles Images, Film Fund Luxembourg, Netherlands Film Fund, Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel and the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), the BENELUX collaboration champions the international promotion of films from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The Benelux is a strong region united by a high-quality film infrastructure and shared cultural narratives that reflect its rich diversity.

The documentary producers of the BENELUX delegation are in Sheffield to connect with the industry and look for coproduction partners, financiers, sales and festivals to advance their projects currently in development.

DOC Canadian Breakthrough Delegation

The DOC Canadian Breakthrough Delegation showcases six filmmakers who are alumni of the 2025–26 Breakthrough Development Lab. Breakthrough is a rigorous four-month professional development and mentorship intensive supporting emerging and mid-career documentary filmmakers from across Canada to refine their projects into strong, pitch-ready works for the international marketplace.

Representing British Columbia, Ontario, Québec, and Nova Scotia, the delegation brings forward distinctive voices and compelling stories with global resonance. The filmmakers are attending Sheffield to connect with international decision-makers, build creative partnerships, and advance their projects toward production, financing and/or distribution.

#DocsConnect by Taskovski Films is an international training and networking programme for documentary and non-fiction filmmakers, operated by Taskovski Films Ltd., a London-based sales and production company specialising in independent cinema. The programme offers masterclasses, mentorship, and workshops led by award-winning industry experts, covering story development, co-production, distribution, impact strategy, and conscious filmmaking practices. Participants gain practical skills, festival exposure, and connections to global markets and industry leaders, supporting sustainable career development.

DocedgeKolkata is the oldest incubation lab and pitching platform in Asia for nonfiction storytellers and dedicated to developing creative and human interest stories from India and the Asian countries by engaging filmmakers through high quality training, project development fellowships and industry events. DocedgeKolkata is the flagship programme of Documentary Resource Initiative, based in Kolkata, India.

Docs Ireland – IGNITE-Docs Delegation

IGNITE-Docs Documentary Talent Development Programme Delegation coordinated by Cork International Film Festival & Docs Ireland

IGNITE-Docs is a talent development programme directed towards emerging Irish and Northern Irish documentary filmmakers embarking on their first or second non-fiction feature film. The programme is a cross-border partnership that aims to foster a new generation of documentary filmmakers, in an innovative collaboration between the island’s first and newest film festivals, Cork International Film Festival and Docs Ireland.

Bangladesh Delegation - Dhaka DocLab

Coordinated by Dhaka DocLab & Sheffield Industry team with support from the British Council. 

This particular delegation of Bangladeshi filmmakers-producers are joining Sheffield to connect with industry & audiences in the UK and to promote their films, also Bangladesh as a land of stories & co-production opportunities.

Dhaka DocLab is a registered non-profit organization based in Bangladesh. It functions as an Asian forum for documentary practitioners, with a vision to become a productive hub for creative content and reality-based storytelling rooted in social relevance.

Palestinian Delegation

Coordinated by the Palestine Film Institute

Amid the ongoing effort to preserve and amplify Palestinian narratives, the Palestine Film Institute (PFI) supports the presence of Palestinian cinema on international platforms. In collaboration with Sheffield DocFest through the Palestine Showcase, PFI presents a selection of feature documentaries in progress, offering filmmakers and producers opportunities to engage with decision-makers, festival programmers, and the wider international film community.

Scottish Delegation

Coordinated by the Scottish Documentary Institute 

The Scottish Delegation of producers, filmmakers, and financiers come to Sheffield to connect with audiences and the industry, and to promote their films and Scotland as a first-class place for documentary filmmaking and co-production. Screen Scotland is the national body that drives development of all aspects of Scotland’s film and TV industry, through funding and strategic support. Scottish Documentary Institute (SDI) is an internationally recognised documentary centre, specialising in documentary training, production, and distribution.
