
Film entries are now open for the 33rd edition of Sheffield DocFest, which will take place from 10 - 15 June 2026.
For our 33rd edition, we welcome completed documentary films of all lengths, from shorts to mid-length and features, from around the world. Our programming represents our core values – creativity, empathy, freedom, inclusivity and internationalism.

Our 2025 programme presented 117 films (83 features and 34 shorts), including 53 World Premieres, 17 International Premieres, 8 European Premieres, and 37 UK Premieres. Films came from 68 countries of production with 40 languages represented across 201 screenings in Sheffield cinemas and venues. Click here to explore the 2025 programme.

Early Deadline: 21 November 2025, 12:00 Noon GMT
Mid-Length and Feature Films (over 40 minutes) - £40 + VAT
Short Films (up to 40 minutes including credits) - £30 + VAT
Standard Deadline: 30 January 2026, 12:00 Noon GMT
Mid-Length and Feature Films (over 40 minutes) - £45 + VAT
Short Films (up to 40 minutes including credits) - £35 + VAT
Late Deadline: 20 February 2026, 12:00 Noon GMT
