We are International Documentary Festival Sheffield. Our main place of business is: The Workstation, 15 Paternoster Row, Sheffield, S1 2BX, UK. Throughout these terms and conditions when we mention ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’ etc, we mean International Documentary Festival Sheffield. When we refer to ‘you’ we mean the pass holder and/or user of our website https://sheffdocfest.com. 

Festival Pass Holders

  1. You must be over 18 years of age to register for a festival pass;

  2. You can only register for a festival pass online;

  3. Please complete one online registration form per person;

  4. You are not registered until we receive full payment for your pass. Online registration is only valid with a completed online registration form;

  5. All prices are in pounds sterling;

  6. All payment in pounds sterling only;

  7. We use Stripe to process payments. Most debit and credit cards are accepted.

  8. We do not accept individual registration payments by cheque or bank transfer.

  9. You will be required to present photo ID to collect your Festival Pass;

  10. We reserve the right to change future pass prices, including the price charged if you abandon your registration and return it to after discounted rates have ended. 

  11. By ticking one or both of the boxes to have your name and/or contact details published you are agreeing for your details to be published on the Festival Attendee list or Festival Pass holders List. Security: We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information that we collect;

  12. Registration includes important Delegate Updates which we will send you via email and subscription to our year-round e-news. Delegate updates contain vital information about the Festival which you will need upon your arrival in Sheffield, but should you not wish to receive this information, or our year-round e-news, please click on unsubscribe at the bottom of the last email received. We will never share your email or personal details with anyone else without your consent;

  13. Sheffield DocFest reserves the right to revoke passes due to any unauthorised use or breach of our Safer Festival Policy.

  14. The pass is personalised with your full name and photo and may not be used during Sheffield DocFest by any other person;

  15. By registering for a Festival Pass you agree for your Festival Pass to be scanned and information regarding attendance at events to be recorded. Sheffield DocFest will never sell this information but will use it for reporting purposes;

  16. You will not be able to access any festival events without your Festival Pass. 

Festival Pass Transfers

  1. If you have purchased a Festival Pass and wish to transfer it to someone else, you can request a pass transfer. There will be a processing fee payable for pass transfers:

    1. £50.00+VAT for transfers requested by 29 May 2024

    2. £100.00+VAT for transfers requested from 30 May 2024

  2. Requests for transfers must be received in writing via email to: registration [at] sheffdocfest.com;

  3. Please put the following in your subject header: Festival Pass – Transfer Request and include your full name in the email, along with the name and email of the person you wish to transfer your pass to;

Festival Pass Refunds

  1. If you change your mind or are unable to attend you can request a refund. Requests for Festival Pass refunds must be received by midday on Tuesday 30 April 2024. After this deadline refunds will only be issued in extreme circumstances, at our discretion;

  2. Requests for refunds must be received in writing via email to: registration [at] sheffdocfest.com;

  3. Please put the following in your subject header: Festival Pass – Refund Request and include your full name in the email;

  4. In the case of an event cancellation, a refund will be issued.

Last Minute Passes

Any pass bought between 30 May and 17 June will be processed and printed within 24 hours of submission

Lost Passes

  1. Please note there is a lost pass fee of £30 + VAT

  2. Lost Pass fees must be paid at the Registration Desk by debit or credit card;

  3. You will be required to present a photo ID to have your lost Festival Pass replaced.

 

Ticketing Terms & Conditions

  1. We regret that we cannot offer refunds, or cancellations on purchased tickets except in the case of International Documentary Festival Sheffield cancelling an event. If an event is rescheduled and the ticket holder can no longer attend an exchange may be offered for another event at the festival. 

  2. E-tickets will be issued as standard and will be sent by email at the time of your booking.Bring your e-ticket on your phone which will be scanned at the door of the event. You can also print at home.

  3. The festival will not print tickets as standard, however, if you do not have access to a smart phone or home printer, it is possible to have your tickets printed at any of our box offices

  4. Venue Staff reserve the right to refuse admission or to eject a ticket holder if they believe their behaviour will impair others enjoyment of the event. No refunds will be offered in this circumstance.

  5. Due to high demand, if you are not in your seat 5 minutes before the advertised start time of the event, it is possible that your ticket may be reallocated to a standby queue.

  6. Tickets are not for resale. Reselling a ticket for profit without permission of International Documentary Festival Sheffield will make the ticket void and the holder may be refused entry.

  7. We will never share your email address or personal details with any third parties except where you have given explicit permission to do so.

  8. Concession tickets are only valid when accompanied by proof of concession.

  9. All offers and discounts are subject to availability. We reserve the right to add or remove discounts at any time.

  10. We accept payments by Visa, Visa Delta/Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, MasterCard Debit.

  11. Due to Sheffield DocFest events being general admission we are unable to offer any replacement for lost tickets, please keep your eTickets on file. 

  12. We regret that we cannot offer refunds, exchanges or cancellations on purchased tickets except in the event of Sheffield International Documentary Festival cancelling the event. If an event is rescheduled and the ticket holder can no longer attend an exchange may be offered for another event at the festival.

  13. There are no additional booking fees applied to tickets bought from www.sheffdocfest.com, over the phone or in person at our box offices.

Concessions

Concessions apply to claimants, full-time students and senior citizens (over 60). Customers will need to provide ID or proof of benefits, and qualifying concession status must be valid on the day of the event.

Recording & Photography

  1. The use of mobile phones, cameras, video and any other form of recording equipment by attendees is not permitted during the event.

  2. The event may be videotaped or photographed for various media and other uses by the producers and may include pictures of, actions of, or statements by attendees or individuals in attendance.

  3. Attendance at this event shall be deemed your consent for the producers to use such video and photo materials collected at the event, without compensation, for the purposes of reporting, marketing, and promotion of the event. Complaints Policy

Complaints must be presented in writing and e-mailed to boxoffice [at] sheffdocfest.com . We will endeavour to respond to your complaints within 24 hours

Liability

So far as lawfully possible, we exclude all liability to you in contract or negligence (other than negligence by us which gives rise to personal injury or death). We also exclude liability for any consequential or indirect loss which may be caused to you by us.

 

Access Policy

If you have any access requirements, please email access [at] sheffdocfest.com. 

Complimentary tickets and passes are available for Personal Assistants, Carers or sign language interpreters who are assisting someone attending the festival. Customers will need proof of DLA or a valid CEA card or international equivalent.

  1. From your first use of the website, you agree to accept the terms and conditions. If you do not accept these terms and conditions you should stop using our website immediately. 

  2. We reserve the right to make changes to the terms and conditions which will take effect from the date of posting. 

  3. Your continued use of the site will mark your acceptance of these changes to the terms and conditions.

  4. We may update our Terms & Conditions from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms and Conditions on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.

  5. All content is copyright to International Documentary Festival Sheffield unless otherwise stated. You may view the website information in a web browser for private browsing purposes only. For any other purposes, you will need written consent which may be granted at our discretion. 

  6. Occasionally we may publish images or text in which the copyright is not owned by us. Where this is applicable we have acknowledged the copyright owner.

  7. Where applicable we acknowledge the owners of all external trademarks which are referred to in our website.

  8. We reserve the right to make changes to the website and correct any errors or omissions without notice or without liability to you.

  9. External websites to which we provide links are not under our control and we take no responsibility and shall not be liable in any way for their content. As this is an interactive website, third party information may be contributed which we do not have control over.

  10. Opinions expressed within the website pages are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the opinions of International Documentary Festival Sheffield.
