In an effort to shine a spotlight on the Nigerian films we have in the programme this year (MKO, Hope is a Word, and Crocodile), this panel will feature four main topics of conversation:

1. Storytelling as a form of preservation – looking beyond craft and technique to consider the importance of the stories we're telling.

2. Who controls the narrative? We'll explore questions of audience, authorship, and authenticity.

3. The realities of filmmaking in Nigeria – the practical challenges and opportunities, including funding, access, infrastructure, and distribution.

4. Where is Nigerian filmmaking heading in the future?

Speakers:
Ose Oyamendan (Filmmaker, Writer, Producer)

Femi Odugbemi (Filmmaker, Writer, Producer, Co-founder of iRep film festival)

Moderator: Franklin Ugobude (Film Critic, Writer)
