In 1985, during Guatemala's Internal Armed Conflict, Josefa Andrade's son Joaquín was abducted by the State. Four decades on, Josefa is still waiting. Through a cinematic dialogue between Josefa and her nephew, the director, Pelo Lindo weaves together images, memories and shared spaces to trace a story shaped by loss and an unshakeable hope. Josefa named her chapel the Chapel of the Christ of the Kidnapping, built in the conviction that her son would one day return. Told in chapters, with bold, immersive cinematography that reframes intimate family life from striking new angles, devotion, grief and celebration sit side by side.
